DIY Pottery Kit
Our DIY kits come with our premium studio clay, pottery tools, and everything you need to sculpt at home. Each kit includes acrylic paints for decorating your creations after they’ve dried, and if you’d like a glossy, food-safe finish, your pieces can also be glazed and kiln-fired in our studio or at any local pottery studio near you. Plus, you’ll have access to all our step-by-step instructional videos below to guide you through every stage of your project with ease.
Air Dry
Let your pieces dry completely before painting. Use our Paint Sets. They include everything you need to paint and make your clay creations water-resistant. (Not waterproof)
Ceramics
This means you can use it for food items, it also means pieces are 100% water resistant and can be used as mugs etc. All you have to do is to find your local pottery studio and ask them to look after you. Once glaze fired this will make your pieces waterproof and food safe. This is not mandatory and if you don't plan to use it as a vase, mug or for food there is no need to fire it in a kiln as our clay dries at home.
Firing cost
We charge £7 per kilo for firing. For example, if you use half a kilo of clay (like for a small mug or small planter), the firing cost would be £3.50. If you use the full kilo of clay (such as for a vase), the cost is £7.
Important: If you decide to fire your work to bisque, do not paint it with acrylic paint until after the bisque firing is complete.
*Bisque firing is the first firing of clay, which hardens the piece and prepares it for glazing by removing all remaining moisture.
