Welcome to Fatclay Pottery's Studio Space
Welcome to our creative space, located at 67, Castle Road, Southsea, Portsmouth, PO5 3AY. More than just a workspace, our Studio is a vibrant community dedicated to the art of ceramics. Step inside and you'll immediately feel the authentic, creative style that makes our Studio unique. The space functions as an ongoing art gallery, decorated with a rotating display of ceramics, all made by our talented students and members. If you see something you love, many of these unique items are available for sale—please feel free to ask a member of our staff!

Our venue is thoughtfully designed with dedicated areas for different techniques:

We have a bright room where we run all our hand-building workshops, perfect for detailed, focused creation.

A separate area houses the wheels for our wheel-throwing sessions, allowing for dynamic, hands-on learning.
Beyond the main rooms is our back studio, the crucial space where we expertly fire and glaze all student and member pieces, bringing your work to its lasting finish.
Option A
Hand Building Corporate Workshop
Are you looking for a fun and engaging team event? Our hand-building workshops are a fantastic choice for your next corporate gathering. Our instructors will guide your team through the process of creating unique handmade ceramics using various tools and techniques to bring your pieces to life! These sessions offer the opportunity for your team to de-stress, have fun, and engage in a low-pressure activity that sparks creativity and builds lasting memories together. ​
2 hours | £45pp (£50pp with first alcoholic drink included) | Min.6 - Max.15
​Sessions can be tailored so all participants work towards making the same thing. All pieces will be clear glazed and fired and will be available to collect around 4 weeks after the session date.
Option B
Wheel Throwing Corporate Workshop
Put a different spin on teamwork with a wheel-throwing workshop that blends collaboration with friendly competition. Our workshops put a creative twist on overcoming challenges as your team learns the art of the potters wheel. Your team will learn the basic fundamentals of wheel throwing creating pieces that will keep the memories alive for years to come! These interactive and lively sessions are designed to boost morale, engagement, and creative thinking.
2.5 hours | £65pp (£70pp with first alcoholic drink included) | Min.4 - Max.8
​At the end of the session participants get to select their two favourite pieces which we will clear glaze and fire ready to be collected in around 4 weeks time.
There is the option to come back at a later date to decorate your pieces, the cost of this is £20pp (please enquire for further information).
Option C
The Full Clay Experience
4 hours | £90pp (£95pp with first alcoholic drink included) | Min.8 - Max.16
If you are looking for the ultimate creative team activity, we recommend our best selling package - Full Clay Experience.
It combines the best of both pottery worlds - hand-building and wheel-throwing - in one immersive 4-hour session.
Perfect for corporate groups offering a balance of calm creativity and lively teamwork, giving everyone the chance to explore both techniques. Your group will be split into two smaller teams: half will begin at the potter’s wheels, learning the fundamentals of throwing with guidance from our instructors, while the other half will dive into hand-building, shaping and decorating their own unique pieces using a variety of tools and textures. After a short break, the groups will swap over so everyone gets a full experience of both making methods. All of your team members will have their favourite pieces from both parts of the session clear glazed and fired, ready to collect in around four weeks after the session takes place.
